It is very difficult to accurately describe the incredible impact of Mrs. Raye on Aberdeen Hall. Director of Development, Dean of Admissions and most recently, Principal of the Junior School, are just some of the prominent hats she wore while contributing to the amazing school and community that is Aberdeen Hall over the past fourteen years.

We're looking forward to seeing you on Monday June 1, 2020. The faculty and staff have been busy preparing the facility, and building procedures to ensure our students have a safe and engaging school experience. On the morning of Friday, May 15 at 10am, Premier John Horgan, Education Minister Rob Fleming, and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry outlined the province’s phased re-opening of schools.

In the next few days, we are anticipating announcements from the government that will loosen some of the restrictions in the province and could include schools. The Board of Directors and School Administration have been meeting regularly to review all considerations regarding the end of this year, and plans for 2020-2021. Additionally, the school has begun to plan for a potential partial re-opening of the physical campus.

Dear Aberdeen Hall Community Members, How are you doing? How can we help? At the moment, all of us are dealing with the challenges of isolating, combined with our shared concerns about the future. This isolation is going to take 1-2 months at a minimum, and it is important that we start settling in for what is going to be a heck of a battle. We have a great challenge ahead, and I am up for that challenge. If you need something, or someone to talk to, please contact me directly, and I will do what I can to assist.

As you may be aware, on Tuesday, March 17, the BC Ministry of Education announced the indefinite suspension of in-class instruction in BC schools. This means that after spring break, Aberdeen Hall will be teaching our students through remote learning. In the next few days, we will be sending an additional update with greater details about our remote teaching plans for the foreseeable future. Our goal is to deliver all of the BC curriculum requirements. This plan requires a fair amount of professional development, and will take a few weeks to evolve fully. At this point, we are planning on launching our online classes on March 31, 2020.
