Aberdeen Hall has a strong relationship with our parents and partners, and we provide an excellent educational experience for their children. We have built the school around the following core principles:
Our specialized teachers are passionate about education and our students. We offer a unique global curriculum that includes daily core instruction, starting in Kindergarten, with classes in French, music and physical education. Our goal is to guide our students to focus on, and master, the core skills of reading, writing and arithmetic along with developing a true appreciation of the arts, health and character education.
We take pride in a community setting where we recognize and meet our students' individual needs with small class sizes and personal attention. Every student is respected and valued at Aberdeen Hall.
We encourage you to visit our campus, walk the halls, and meet our students and staff. We look forward to meeting you!
In November, Ms. Dunn and Mr. Acree accompanied 14 of our students to Guatemala for Aberdeen Hall’s inaugural service-learning trip to Project Somos. Project Somos supports indigenous families and children living in extreme poverty in rural Guatemala. They provide quality education and healthy meals to these families in an eco-sustainable community known as The Children’s Village. Their mission is to give children the opportunity to break the vicious cycle of poverty for themselves and future generations In their time at The Project, our students rolled up their sleeves, working in the fields, preparing snacks and meals in the kitchen, cleaning, and most importantly interacting with the children at Project Somos.
We've been checking in with some of our 2019 Grads to highlight their post-secondary journeys. This week, we're catching up with Jaeda Yurkiw. We have to say, Jaeda is one busy woman! Currently enrolled at the University of British Columbia Okanagan where she is studying sciences (she plans on attending Medical School and then specializing in Dermatology), Jaeda is also an accomplished volleyball player (she was our Grade 12 co-MVP last year) and is playing on the UBC Okanagan Heat Women's volleyball team as well as training for beach volleyball season (she hopes to play professionally this summer). Read more about Jaeda's time at Aberdeen Hall and her first month at university.
We're checking in with some of our 2019 Grads to see how they're adapting to their new, post-secondary lives. Last year, 100% of our grads were accepted into post-secondary institutions, and for the next couple of weeks, we'll be highlighting some of their journeys. This week, we're catching up with Matt McLaughlin.
A Message from Head of School, Chris Grieve. The emotional and psychological well being of students at Aberdeen Hall Preparatory School is of utmost importance, and the Board, faculty and staff are fully committed to doing everything in our power to ensure we foster and maintain a safe, kind and inclusive community.
